Description rupxamqon 2008-11-03 03:18:26 UTC
I am using OOo 3.0, in Kubuntu 8.04. I install a Writer Extension and reopen the
Writer window. The new extension toolbar is there, but clicking on the buttons
gives the following error message:

A Scripting Framework error occurred while running the Basic script
 vnd.sun.star.script:odt2pml.ConvertASCII.sbAsciiWizard?
 language=Basic&location=application
Message. The following Basic script could not be found:
 library: 'odt2pml'
 module: ConvertASCII
 method: sbAsciiWizard
 location: application

After completely shutting down and restarting OOo, everything worked well.

Another user sent me the same error running OOo with Windows Vista.

I don't know if that is a bug to be fixed, or a normal OOo behaviour - but then
the Extension Manager should tell users to restart OOo before using newly
installed extensions...

Adjusted subject to better reflect the concrete problem and not to imply a
solution.

The solution for the problem IMO should be to fix the bug with the toolbars not
working and not to introduce a restart-required-after-extension-installation
feature to be able to work around the actual bug.

set target to 3.x since not release relevant for 3.4 release.
