Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 9532
Handling of Word .doc numbered style where numbering is manually overridden
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
In Word, you can apply the style which includes numbering to a para, and then manually format the para to be unnumbered. OpenOffice displays the para with a number i.e. is applies the style, but not the additional manual formatting override. Workaround: Happily, if you export the Word doc from Word as RTF, and open the RTF doc in OpenOffice, the numbering is handled correctly

MRU->AMA: It is not possible to exclude single Heading paragraphs from the Outline numbering. A new feature has to be implemented to import thid correctly.
Hi Caolán, if you would import the "not numbered" outline paragraph as normal numbered (!outline) paragraph and set this normal numbering to "none" you'll get at least no number at the paragraph. Okay, the other numbered outline paragraphs will get the numbers "2." and "3." But this problem: don't count unnumbered outline paragraphs is addressed and will be changed by Henning.
cmc->mru: #94672# has to remain working with this change.
