Description Unknown 2002-11-24 16:35:30 UTC
When I try to start the word processor or "OO Global", I see the spash screen
and then I get two "unrecoverable errors" and two GPFs, then the program exits.
The HTML-Editor works, but as soon as I click on "New -> Text Document" or "New
-> Master Document", I get about 4 or 5 unrecoverable errors and GPFs.

(Why "unrecoverable error"? Is it really so difficult to tell the user WHAT went
wrong?)

Could you record the exact GPF message with any details? This will
help us to analyze the workings of the program on your system. Also:
 * Are you running any firewalls?
 * Are you running any virus scanners?
 * Have you tried reinstalling OpenOffice.org?
 * Have you tried a newer build of OpenOffice.org?

The error message (translated from german): "soffice.exe - error in
application
The instruction '0x03af1fe0' points at memory in '0x00000000'. The
command 'read' couldn't be executed on the memory. Click Ok to exit,
Cancel to debug."

I don't have a firewall or virus scanner.

I also tried the newest development version (634), still exactly the
same problem.

Something interesting: I often had similar problems with MS Word (that
was the reason why I wanted to use OOo), but _never_ with other
applications.

Please reopen if the problem persists in OOo 1.1 Beta1
