Hi,

I'm trying to test GraphicsInserter sample written in Java. The readme file
says that run the OpenOffice using command following line option.
"soffice -accept=socket,host=localhost,port=8100;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager".
From this option, what I understand is that Server is going to run as service
at port 8100. But if I try to check is there anything running on this port,
then I find nothing. Same complaint is done by GraphicsInserter, when it's run
from the command line. Here's the exact message received.
"com.sun.star.connection.NoConnectException: java.net.ConnectException:
Connection refused: connect"

What should I do?

By the way, I want to add a new menu item in the openoffice application. It
will be a new drop down menu and there will be some menu options under it,
selecting one of them will open some dialog box. To start with, I thought of
testing these sample xtensions first, how do these work. If someone can throw
light on it also, that'll be great.

I found this application to be techincal vary sound and I also want to
contribute in its development process. Please guide how to proceed?

Thanks,
Parveen

First you should tell us which version you are using.
A possible problem is that you need to quote the command line in some shells.

No response for several years. Should be enough to close it. :-)
