Either, open the file with OpenOffice from Windows explorer or use the open
command within OpenOffice.  The opening of the file hangs up about three
quarters of the way on the progress meter.  I also tried inserting worksheets
from the file - Insert->Sheet From File... .  As soon as I pick the file to
insert sheets from, OpenOffice Calc hangs up.

I confirm, it hangs when opening. I use German OOo3.0RC3. The file opens fine in
Excel 2007.

can't open in AOO3.4,and when open AOO hangs,but in MS office,it can open normally.
