Description jrockinl 2002-11-21 20:49:35 UTC
While reading the help for labels, it describes a process of drag/drop from the
address book. I have imported address from a spreadsheet, originally excel, but
recently translated to openoffice. When hitting F4 and selecting the address
book, I see my addresses pop into view. My problem is the help file says you
can drag and drop the field names into a label. When trying this, I see the
cursor turn into a "slashed circle" when I move it over the place I want to drop
it on the label. I never see the field being added to the label. There is no
problem dragging an individual cell down to the label.

This occurs in 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 on Windows 98 and ME. I never tried
OpenOffice.org on linux but using StarOffice 6.0 on linux, this drag and drop
works. I see the field displayed on the label. Although I do have an issue
here also. While perform this drag and drop on the StarOffice 6.0 linux
version, it still shows the "slashed circle" cursor, even though it does work.

If any more info is desired, I will try follow this up and reply.

This appears to work in 1.1Beta.

Click on the Column Header and then dragging initially goes to a
Slashed Circle, but this is due to the fact that you are hovering over
the cells in the table.

Once you get to the Label it allows a drop in that area.

Can you check to see if it works for you as well?

I have tried it out running version 1.1rc1 and JRE 1.4.2 and all seems
correct now. Both the column (field name) problem and the cursor
problem now work as I expect. Thanks guys!
