Description docb 2008-09-10 14:48:17 UTC
The attached slide was saved with OO 3.0rc1 (Windoze). When opening it in 2.4.1
(Linux), the bullet points are gone.
I understand that OO 3.0 uses ODF 1.2 and 2.4.1 uses ODF 1.1, but I would expect
some more backward compatibility....

Reproducible. Reassigned.
Comment 3 gibi 2008-09-25 10:52:17 UTC
Verified with OOo 3.0rc2 WinXP and OOo 2.4.1 WinXP.
Plus:
 - same behavior with option ODF1.0/1.1 activated in 3.0rc2
 - same behavior when saving in sxi from 3.0rc2

Looks like this is a duplicate of #91466 which explains that it's 1.x and 2.x
issue as far as versions before 3.0beta2 expected an invalid ODF format.

this is indeed duplicate to issue 91466

btw. the option to export ODF 1.1 in OOo 3.0 is not a backward compatibility
option for OOo 2.x. It is only to generate valid ODF 1.1 documents. In general
ODF 1.2 is backward compatible to ODF 1.1. In this particular case, the
presentation text core had a architectural problem that caused the bullet
information to be exported in a non valid ODF 1.x way. This was fixed in OOo 3.0
and would be hard to backport to 2.x
