Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 9259
there is no thesaurus in solaris sparc build
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:26:35 UTC
OpenOffice.org 643Cc, Solaris Sparc 9 Open a text document, enter a word, e.g. 'score' highlight 'score' select tools - thesaurus. The Thesaurus dialog opens but does not offer any alternative words. Close the Thesaurus dialog, again select Tools, the Thesaurus option has now been greyed out of the menu.
Hi Robert, some curious questions: - Is this a regression compared to 1.0.1? - Is this Solaris specific or reproducable on other platforms? Thanks Stefan
Sander, see also Kevin's message on releases: http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg? msgId=458907&listName=releases
It seems to my the installation thinks a thesaurus for english has ben installed, thus it is possible to open the thesaurus the first time. And then when the thesaurus has been started it is seen that there really is no thesaurus for english available. This then results in the language entry being removed from the list of by the thesaurus supported languages. Thus the second time the menu entry is disabled. Please have a look if the files for the thesaurus are really installed. You may also have a look in the the "Edit Modules" dialog (see "Tools/Options - Language Settings - Writing Aids and then press the topright "Edit" button). If there is no thesaurus listed for english then it is not installed or the registration has failed. If it is not installed and it is OK this way. Then the setup script needs to get modified in order to not write a language entry for the thesaurus to the configuration. Thus the menu entry would be disabled from the beginning. Greetings, Thomas
Sander, Kevin, I think, this has been resolved before 643C went out, right?

As agreed on I will close these resolved fixed issues now. If you have trouble with that, please re-open the issue.
