Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 92487
Icon for "Close Master View" missing in Toolbar MasterView
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:08:18 UTC
The icon for "Close Master View" is missing in Toolbar Masterview. The logical path is: default_images/res/commandimagelist/sc_closemasterview.png. It exists in IconTool and cvs so it must be a source code problem or something.
As far as I can remember the missing icon is a feature not a bug. To change this we simply have to change in officecfg/registry/org/openoffice/Office/UI/DrawImpressCommands.xcu the entry for .uno:CloseMasterView by adding <prop oor:name="Properties" oor:type="xs:int"> <value>1</value> </prop>
We've discussed this with FL and we decided that it might be good to have a combination of text and icon here in the next reachable version (same as for "slide show" in the toolbar for example). Please set the target according to which version you can reach with this.
Setting target to 3.1 because this is simple to fix (so not 3.x) but is not a severe shortcoming or show stopper (so not 3.0.1).
Setting target to OOo 3.2 due to time constraints.
I just found out that you can not show both icon and text for single entries in a tool bar. This can only be done for all entries like in the slide show toolbar. This leaves two alternatives: a) Show both icon and text for all four entries b) Don't change the current state: show just the icon for "New/Rename/Delete Master", show just the text for "Close Master View". @ih: Which alternative do you prefer?
I prefer alternative a) but what do the others think? Esp. Stella?
We use text for such mode closers in Writer and Calc too. So I would propose to stay with current text only solution (b). We should keep this issue with target 3.x to extend our toolbar capabilities within project renaissance. I would clearly prefer to have a closer icon and text for just this button. Modes in software are hard to understand for users, so the better we promote the exit of the current mode the better.
Changing target to 3.x
