insert points crashes application

Unrecoverable error When clicking Edit points the Bezier bar does not appear Tried to customise tool bar by adding "Insert points" icon then get "Unrecoverable error" message and application crashes
Could you give more specific, numbered steps to reproduce the problem?
Set to new.
1. Open Draw 2. Draw a bezier object (I chose a rectangle) 3. Click on the edit points icon (the bezier bar is supposed to appear but doesn't) 4. Right click on toolbar, click customise. 5. Navigate to find the insert points icon, drag on to toolbar. 6. Close the customize dialog 7. Unrecoverable error dialog appears, application crashes, document cannot be recovered.
Thanks for the update Ian. Unable to duplicate on Win NT 4.0 SP6a, OOo 643. Unable to duplicate on RH 8.0, RH OOo 1.0.1. Which toolbar are you dragging the icon to?
Drawing a rectangle wont bring up the bezier bar. Did you try to draw a filled or unfilled curve? when you want to treat a rectangle as a bezier curve you have got to convert it into a curve first. A rectangle from the toolbar has to be turned into a polygon or into a curve before you can insert some points.
I understand. Thank you Having read what you said and looked at the application again, what I actually need to do is to insert glue points. I can't see the icon for this though! :-) And every time I try to view another toolbar or customise I get the "unrecoverable error" message.
Did you try View/Toolbars/Option Bar? The second icon from the left is the gluepoint toolbar. When you click on it the gluepoint toolbar comes up. Select insert gluepoint (left button) and place the gluepoint at the object.
Did try that...it crashed the application. However, after removing the installation and reinstalling as instructed in issue 9218, this issue also goes away. Can close this off now, thanks for your help.
