Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 92053
Provide "Reveal in Folder" option on File Menu and Toolbar
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:36:49 UTC
To facilitate easy access to the original file located on disk, I propose a simple "Reveal Folder" item on the file menu and standard toolbar. This menu item / toolbar button would have the following properties: 1. When the item is clicked/selected, it opens the folder containing the file currently in use in the system's default file manager (nautilus, konqueror, explorer, finder, etc.), with the file highlighted. 2. "Reveal Folder" Item/button disabled for files that have not yet been saved. Enabled after the file has been saved once. Reason: This feature is a better alternative to the common options found under "File-->Send-->", many users have already started emails (using "reply", for example) before they attach documents, and then have to navigate through several folder levels before they find the document they are seeking. Market Need: The "Reveal Folder" menu option provides a usable function to new users and power users alike.
Reassigned to requirements.
Just wanted to add that I posted a related feature request under http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=92059 Thanks!
