"Tools/Options/OOo/View/Show icons in menus" does not work for
extension-supplied icons for popup menus. Those icons will always be shown,
regardless of the value of the before mentioned config item.

This is one of the current limitations listed in Issue 86534.

They may be disturbing for the user, I hope these points can be corrected in the near 
future.
