after importing a pdf file with the new pdf import extention, the original pdf
file is still locked and cannot be opened by another application at the same time

Which OS? Problem is not reproducible under linux. Did you get the extension at
ftp://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/.newserver/DEV300_m17/Build-1/PDFImport
?

oops, sorry, I forgot

Issue appears under WindowsXP, but I'd guess all versions of windows are affected

btw, should issues regarding the import quality reported as well already or is
it too early and you are still activly working on it?

Please check if the reason isn't the same as in  Issue 43034 (windows system

Reproducible in OO330_m10. Directly after opening the pdf file it is locked.
After saving the file to odg the locked is away again. Is this behaviour wanted
/inevitable?
