Description hoper 2002-11-07 12:11:57 UTC
PC: Asus P2B-D mainboard, Voodoo Banshee 16 MB video card, 512 MB RAM
OS: MS Windows 2000 with or without any SP, MS IE 5.5
OpenOffice: 1.0.0 and 1.0.1

Every time the system starts/restarts, I have to change the display down to 256
colors AND 800x600 resolution, run OpenOffice once, then change the display back
to higher color and resolution, otherwise the whole system will die/freeze when
OpenOffice is about to display the tool bars.

Someone told me to update DirectX, but it didn't help.

More info:
My machine is Dual P-III 500.
And OOo runs without problem in Red Hat 8.0.

Hoper, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

A few things to consider:

Try disabling the QuickStarter and see if this problem still exists.
Tools->Options->OpenOffice.org->Memory is where the option is
installed.

If possible, consider upgrading video drivers to see if the problem
still exists.

Sounds like a graphics driver bug to me, not an OpenOffice bug...
Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld 2003-09-04 17:55:51 UTC
No reporter-activity for 9 months
No votes
No other one who confirmed the problem

I think we should close that issue.
If someone still sees the problem, the issue can be reopened

If I will not see any further action as votes, attachments or
confirmations, I will have to close this issue 2003-09-30 as WFM.

Please try using the latest OOo 1.1 Rc4,
Your version already old enough, and many bug fixes since your version
and 1.1 RC4. If the problem still happend in 1.1 RC4 please report back
and Feel free to reopen it again.
Long time no activity, closed
