Description brant 2002-11-04 05:55:24 UTC
The subcomponent for bug 5708 appears to be corrupt. I want to add the
following comment, but I was unable to do so. The "z" in the Subcomponent
should be capitalized so I can submit my changes. I cannot do so. Also, it
seems as if this bug was supposed to be somewhere else.

Comment to add to bug #5708:
To me, this is likely a driver problem. Since the other imaging divices worked,
it is obvious that the TWAIN scanning interface is working. I would suggest
checking for an update to you HP4100c driver or reinstalling it if there is no
update.

I tested scanning with my Lexmark X73 drivers and it worked.

By the way, www seems to be the wrong component for this.

Hi Brant,

I was able to submit your comments to bug 5708. Also added you to cc.

I did not see the problem you mentioned i.e. 'The "z" in the
Subcomponent'. Could have been a temporary DB problem. Please let us
know if you're still experiencing it. Thanks.

This worked for me this time I tried. Previously, the "z" in
"IssueZilla" was lowercase so IssueZilla thought it was a new product
or something.

This happened again on bug #6067. The bug opens with Subcomponent:
openoffice.org Issuezilla. Notice that the z is lowercase. When I
tried to add the following comment to the bug, I received a message
saying I was changing the component.

This is the wrong component. I think the right component is probably
lang, but I am not sure on that.

When committed, I get the following message:
Issue processed
Changing component means changing version, target milestone and
subcomponent. You have chosen a new component, and now the version,
target milestone and/or subcomponent fields are not correct. (Or,
possibly, the issue did not have a valid target milestone,
subcomponent or version field in the first place.) Anyway, please set
the version, target milestone and subcomponent now.

Component: www
Version: (input box)
Target Milestone: (input box)
Subcomponent: (input box)

I pressed back and manually set the subcomponent to the correct entry,
but I was not allowed to commit it since I don't have canedit
permissions yet. I am guessing that there is either corruption in how
this name is sent or in the database itself.

This occured again with issue #8545. I want to add the following comment:
The problem mentioned could not be reproduced from the link on
<http://www.openoffice.org/project_issues.html>. I receive 10060
Connection Timeout Error. This makes me think the problem is the
server speed in producing the page and that the reporter confused the
timeout with a 404.

This is occuring again with 5198. I am trying to add the following
comment:
How is this a www issue? I think this belongs in the word processor
product.

Hi, Brant was perfectly right. The subcomponent values were wrong for
several issues (8898, 5950, 6067, 8545, 8976). This resulted from a
wrong link on the mentioned web page
(http://www.openoffice.org/project_issues.html). Here the subcomponent
was written with lowercase 'z'. But the subcomponent was configured
with uppercase 'Z' in IZ.
I corrected the "query" and "enter report" links on the webpage page
and changed the subcomponent for the named issues.
Thanks, Stefan.

Btw, most of the issues have the wrong component and subcomponent
anyways :-(

I think I can verify that these are fixed. Hopefully there aren't others.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved
<wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details.
