Description dudson 2008-05-06 20:16:35 UTC
Celestia is a free space simulator that comes with many features, and a
community that has produced over 20GB of addons for it. It is being used in
scientific, academic and other environments.

For sharing viewpoints with other people, it has some kind of urls that are
called celurls. It would be very convenient to be able to use those in OOo
Writer. And integration would boost the adoption of OOo by the people who use
Celestia and make or use celurls.
(It currently works in MS Word but not in OOo Writer)

What does ucb stands for?
Comment 3 matthias.huetsch 2008-05-13 15:39:46 UTC
mhu->dudson: UCB stands for "Universal Content Broker", see @ ucb.openoffice.org

mhu->kso: Kai, can you please have a look into this?

Thanks,
Matthias

MS Office looks at the list of standard programs in Windows (can be found in
configuration screen: standard programs and is a list that says which
formats/url's should open with what program. OOo doesn't looks at this list now.
And this causes celurl's to malfunction.

It would be really appreciated and would enable other kinds of url's to work
with OOo.

I'm talking about the local machine's file associations, OOo should look there
when encountering strange url's like the celurl's.
Is this also something that should be mentioned (added) in the ODF standard or
not? (Program must search in local machine's file associations when encountering
non-standard url's, e.g. celurl's)
