Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 8907
anzu script fails with da.openoffice.org
Last modified: 2004-03-22 16:10:33 UTC
Hi, DA was created but when the owner accidentally deleted himself was discreated. I created a new one, da again, and encountered the anzu script failures. Tried again, with same results. I filed a PCN issue, 12706 that describes the problem Louis
added PCN numer in whiteboard status louis
the issue is being examined and I'll post an update shortly. louis
I nudged ops again, 11/13 Louis
update: we are still waiting to hear from engineering, but expect an update soon. timeframe: CN will update this IZ by 11/21/02
It is important for the Danish translation and other projects that this problem will be solved very soon. There is a very big interest in Denmark concerning OpenOffice.org but the interest will drop pretty soon if we don't have a Danish infrastructure. Why can't you just remove the existing da.openoffice.org subproject and create a new from scratch?
Update I worked with Ops yesterday for a couple of hours to see if Ops could figure out what was going on and fix the issue. AFAIK, it was not fixed. Destroying, erasing and then recreating the project has not worked. I recommend that in the meantime, we use DK. louis
latest update I created several test projects and they intermittently evidenced the same symptoms. I raised the priority at CN to p1 and made it hot. Engineers think they fixed the issue and created a patch that now must be inserted. That will be sometime tomorrow or so. Then it will have to be tested. But it should fix this phenomenon. Sorry for the delay, but the issue was deeper than we suspected. Claus: DA project should be usable very shortly. No need to go with DK. Reassigning to self. Louis
adding support louis
changed status on the whiteboard to reflect current PCN status. louis
Ops had a fixes to the issue and implemented them. However, the fixes did not seem to be effective: I tried creating da and received the same error messages. I reopened the issue and sent it back to Ops for resolution. Am going to be discussing with Ops a fix for this. louis
further update the lead engineer created a patch that fixes the deeper issue and tested it out on a staging server. The patch needs to be applied to the production box and has been reassigned to the presiding engineer. However, it is a vacation period right now in the US. louis
latest update: I nagged the engineer in question several times and he told me he was working on it and was preparing the patch. However, I also promised to Claus that if this was not fixed by Friday 12/07 then we should go ahead with dansk. louis
reassigning to support. support, I notified paul r of this issue and asked that the pcn equiv be addressed as soon as possible. thanks Louis
acknowledged. it's already been added to our hot list. I'm bumping this down to p2, but it will be handled urgently.
Kenneth, I see no reason to lower the priority.
I agree with Stefan. This is HOT P1 on PCN and has been p1 here. it is of utmost priority. The issue is not just DA--which is quite important--but also a big issue/bug in SC 1.1.3 regarding project creation (it does not always work). This issue makes project creation very problematic and frustrating in OOo. Louis
Updated: We tried installing a patch to fix the project creation but that just indicated a deeper issue with the database was at fault. The PCN issue was sent to our lead engineer to resolve. Meanwhile, I have created dansk, which Claus okayed as a name, and have notified Claus of its availability. I do not know when da (and lingucomponent and all the others) will be fixed so that we may work on them. louis
This issue is fixed. DA is operational, I tested a list, and i just recreated lingucomponent. closing as fixed. Louis
As agreed by Louis I will close these resolved fixed support-owned issues now. If you have trouble with that, please re-open the issue.
For technical reasons we have to move the issue to another subcomponent tan 'www'. Sorry for bothering you with this generated notification message. There is no need for any action from yor side. Thanks for your understanding, Stefan
