Install goes without any complaints, but when I ./soffice the splash screen
comes up but then it disappears and is replaced with a pop-up error message
saying: "An unrecoverable error has occured; all modified files have been
saved."  Interesting, as I've yet to run OO once yet.

Using:
RedHat linux 8.0
i686 arch; 700Mhz intel(coppermine) processor

I followed the install directions to a T from:
http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/instructions.html (Linux setup)

Here is a portion of the setup.log that shows some errors that I do not understand:

Markus, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

This is a known issue.  The workaround is to install OOo 1.0.1 from 
RPMs that RedHat provides.

The unstable developer build 643 installs on RH 8.0.  Developer 
builds are for testing purposes only.
