Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 8825
object selection
Last modified: 2003-10-15 10:23:59 UTC
There are two more ways selecting multiple objects that would be super useful: 1. AutoCAD does it this way. If you click with the left mouse button and drag to the right the selection box is solid and only objects that are completely inside are selected (this is what OOo does be default). If you click left mouse button and drag to the left the selection box is dotted and all objects inside or partly inside are selected. 2. Polygon selection (also from AutoCAD). It ability to select a set of objects by drawing a polygon around them. Suggestion is to make the selector icon (arrow icon on the left) be a tear off like most of the other draw tools. The options would be the current arrow icon (current functionality), an arrow with a dotted line around it for #1 above, a small arrow with a solid lined polygon in the background for #2 above, and a small arrow with a dotted lined polygon in the background for #2 above but selecting objects inside and partly inside. thanks, Sep
Reassigned to Falko.
Set to "NEW"
I agree that for AutoCAD users this is great but we are an office suite with a Draw program that uses the metaphors of an office program. Therefore (multi) selection will stay analogue to other office components.
