Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 87307
Optionally set PDF author to another string
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:45:33 UTC
PDF exporting works very well, including picking up the document properties as pdf metadata. However, for some projects it's necessary to replace "author" (the pdf metadata author) with something corporate (e.g. Sun Microsystems) rather than my own name. Currently, this can be done via editing the metadata or by changing the User configuration to be firstname=Sun lastname=Microsystems. But clearly neither is a satisfactory solution. The former because it involves another set of steps and tools (and may well be forgotten in the heat of a deadline) and the latter because one may forget to set it back to oneself, in which case the change tracking becomes much less useful for collaborative efforts. It would be nice if the PDF export dialog allowed one to optionally set the PDF authorship to be different than the openoffice installation configuration.
Please make this addition. There is no easy way to add a coauthor since the Author field is only populated from User Data (if checked). The 'firstname=Sun lastname=Microsystems' trick does not work. OP: 'Currently, this can be done via editing the metadata or...' How are you currently accomplishing this? PDFedit (SourceForge) does not *appear* to offer the metadata (have I just been missing it?). Using emacs to directly edit the metadata breaks the checksums, which causes a 'bad steam' or 'xref' error.
