Ada, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

Duplicated on Win NT 4.0 SP6a, OOo 643 English.

I don't have the Chinese version of OOo, but opening this file
shouldn't crash the english OOo.

Comment 4 ada2778 2002-10-29 07:50:37 UTC
i have tried to replace the whole ..\sw\source\filter\ww8 folder with
the one in oo1.0.1, then this problem is fixed.

This is an example of a ww7 file which is using doublebyte characters,
which on examination are in ms 950 encoding, not unicode like I used
to think. I'll take this one :-)

ww97 ver of same
Comment 7 caolanm 2002-10-29 13:18:48 UTC
Regardless of being a doublebyte encoding its
a) not in unicode, so code conversion (from ms950/big 5) must be done
b) the font names are not in the usual 6- MS1252 they are in the same
encoding as the font itself, i.e. ms950 again. ww2000+ converts these
names to ascii style names (must have a lookup table), but 97 does not
and displays the unicode version of the asian names (attached) which
can be used to confirm that I'm not making this stuff up :-).

fix checked in, SRX644i I would imagine will have these fixes.

Comment 8 caolanm 2002-11-01 12:29:34 UTC
Working in SRX644i
Comment 9 michael.ruess 2002-11-14 11:41:29 UTC
Looks much better in 644L. No crash, suitable FontName.
Will be included in OpenOffice build 644.
Comment 10 michael.ruess 2002-11-29 11:07:38 UTC
Fix will be included in OpenOffice 1.1 beta.
