Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 8551
Trojan found in load
Last modified: 2003-03-13 10:28:20 UTC
I just updated to Pest Patrol 4.0 and it indicated a (ASMCrack 2.56) Trojan in: C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org1.0 \user\config\stamdard/spb|Pictures/1000000000000005E0000005E469E6667.png with a PVT of -883363979 and MD5 of d41d8cd98r00b204c98009988ecf8727e. Supposedly by the description this trojan "Checks the UNIX password file by trying wheather a given word matches an encrypted passord that was within the password file. To do so it uses very speed optimized 386 assembly routines, with pentium alignment and command order opimisaitons. Author: David Knhling Release date: 10/27/1998" Can you please check this out? I don't think this affects you since you aren't running UNIX. Make sure you get OpenOffice only from OpenOffice.org. I looked, and the file is standard.sob which is a zip containing Pictures/1000000000000005E0000005E469E6667.png. I opened the file as an image without a problem and my resident virus scanner didn't complain about anything. I think this isn't an issue, at least with the recent developer builds.
I am resolving this as WORKSFORME. I had not problem installing build 643c with the AVG 6.0 Resident Scanner running.
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
