Description reuss 2002-10-21 19:47:31 UTC
I think OO should follow the applix way on child window function. In applix, I
can open a window as character in OO and leave there, open other window, but if
I open an other character properties dialog in the 2nd document, the dialog is
the same. I prefer this behavior then the one in OO that opens as many character
property dialogs as many documents are open. Maybe the first behavior could help
OO to become more fast, because it terribly slow (MS word oepns five times
faster, unfortunatelly) on celeron500 with 196 Mb of ram. The dialgos should be
more independent. If I open character dialog, I cant open an other document
while I close the dialog
By the way, congratulation the put the dialogs out of the main window, but an
apply button would be better...

under xfree 4.1, if focus follow mouse option is set and I choose a
dialog in menu and drag the dialog outside of main window, I could not
click on, because I loose focus on the desktop. For that reason, i
propose to use common dialogs in all application, that are no linked
to the main window. For exemple, if i choose paragraph, a separat
window should be open with the dialog and if I choose an other
documents, the common dialog should be open on the desktop, but with
the setting of this other document (as in applix).

No, we will not follow the Applix way but the standard MDI way.
