Description fehretic 2002-10-21 14:19:33 UTC
I have to end-task the the soffice component in order shutdown computers in my
office. When shutting down everything looks normal, the screen dims but a few
seconds later everything comes back like I never did the shutdown. I had to
experiment to find the cause, because soffice doesn't show [not responding] in
the close program dialog when this is a problem. After end-tasking soffice the
shutdown can be attempted again and it works smoothly.

Also, Simply Accounting v9.0b doesn't always run as it is supposed to when
soffice component is present. It will load and ask for the file and then
password but then dissappear. Only after I end-task the soffice component will
Simply load the file and appear on the screen.

These problems only surface after sometime has passed since the last boot.. at
least a couple of hours if not more. But it is happening at least once a day
to someone in my office.

Thanx in Advance,
Terry Fehr

Terry, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

Try disabling the OOo QuickStarter SysTray application to see if it
resolves your problem.

Disabling quickstarter does resolve the problem, however, loading the
open office applications becomes so much slower that I'm reluctant to
do it on my user's machines. They are always complaining about speed
as it is.

Thanx again,
Terry Fehr

Talked to a colleague, and issue 6846 is where we are grouping
QuickStarter issues.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
