Last modified: 2008-03-03 09:29:13 UTC
- seen on Solaris Sparc 10 Update 4 with Nautilus 2.6.1 with OOH_m3 - set the following environment variable: export LIBTHREAD_ERROR_DETECTION=2 - start soffice from the same shell - unset 'Use OpenOffice.org dialogs' in tools options general - click on 'File Open' button - the Office crashes (no crash report) - attaching some pstack

Don't know if I can really help here. I guess the question I have is if it *always* crashed on solaris, which I don't think is the case ? Or if e.g. this version of OOo now always crashes on solaris, or if this version of OOo only crashes on that version of solaris and is ok on others. I'd guess that the version of gtk2 itself might be a possible factor, that of nautilus itself shouldn't matter.
You're right. It' not always crashing. It crashes also with OOo 2.3.1 and the related StarOffice 8 version. It also crashing on a newer version of Solaris.
cmc->Fridrich: did you say you saw some gtk file dialog crashes on opensolaris or something like that ?
as for me, I was never able to use the gtk filepicker on Solaris 11 Nevada v70 intel. It always crashes as far as I can tell, at least always when I was trying it was crashing. The build I tried the last was an ooh680-m2 with as many system libraries as the installed system allowed, and with the x11.pc fix that uncle Google delivered to me. I also build gnome-vfs integration.
There's very little I can do about a crash on a platform I don't have. Do we even have the version of gtk2 that's in use here, and is there any other application available that uses the gtk file picker and also uses threads, e.g. maybe eclipse or firefox ? i.e. I know there was an old problem in some gtk variant under linux once and those apps we also affected. I suspect a trawl of the solaris bugzilla equivalent might useful.
For me the file picker crashed mostly in fontconfig (especially with a11y enabled). As this no longer happens to me with SRC680_m247, I think this is a duplicate of 85462. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 85462 ***
