Description Unknown 2002-10-20 13:05:07 UTC
Hello,

I cannot open my file anymore with 1.0.1.
When trying to open I always get "ein nicht behebbarer Fehler ist aufgetreten"
(a non resolveable error occurs).
I tried to open the file also with the Linux version of oo 1.0.1 with the same
result.:(

I put the file on the URL above.

Any idea whats wrong?

thx.
Comment 1 lohmaier 2002-10-20 16:50:49 UTC
crash is reproducible with OOo1.0.1 but doesn't occur with OOo 643.
Problem (don't know what is wrong) seems to be fixed..
Resolving fixed. Feel free to reopen this issue to add further comments.
Comment 2 Unknown 2002-10-20 20:19:24 UTC
Hello,

why is the bug resolved when the crash is reproduceable?

thx.

> crash is reproducible with OOo1.0.1 but doesn't occur with OOo 643.
                                      ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
OOo 643 is a developer build that was made available shortly. It is
newer than OOo1.0.1 and though it is another branch[1] in the
repository you can expect the fixes to be in 1.0.2 or whatever next
stable version will be released.

[1] Will have new features, etc. will end in version 1.x, not version
1.0.x - so maybe not every fix will make it into 1.0.2 - depending
on the deadline for code freeze and vice versa

Hope that this made it clearer somehow.
Since there are no updates possible at the moment you'll have to wait
until the next stable version is released or use the developer version
(but be warned - maybe unstable and corrupt your data, eat your cat,
deflate your tires,... so better don't use it when you got to be
productive (or at least make lots of backups) - I haven't had a crash
yet with 643 - but you can never be sure...)
Comment 4 Unknown 2002-10-20 21:28:15 UTC
ok. thx for these infos.
I thought 643 is/was a pre 1.0 version.
Comment 5 Unknown 2003-01-26 23:24:06 UTC
Hello,

I just tried it again with 1.0.2 and I still cannot open it.:(

Whats the problem?

Thank you.
Comment 6 lohmaier 2003-01-27 11:42:02 UTC
original subject: cannot open file anymore
The Problem is that OOo643 is from another branch and will end up in
OOo 1.x, and 1.0.2 is based on OOo 1.0.1 (was 641-based). See my last
comment for more details.
I'll confirm this issue for further investigation and to make sure it
will be fixed in the next 1.0.x as well... I'll rise the priority to
P2 since OOo crashes without recovery of already opened documents.

[DESCRIPTION]
The file Verfahrensanweisung4.sdw will reproducible crash OOo 1.0.2
when trying to open the file. OOo 643 does not crash and opens fine.

When saving the file as sxw in 643, OOo 1.0.2 can open it without any
problem.

Here kind of a backtrace (I'm not very experienced in creating
debugging-information):

correction to last comment: OOo does recover already opened documents,
but crashes are nasty though...
Comment 9 eric.savary 2003-01-30 17:15:48 UTC
Not reproducible in an internal 644.
Reassigned to submitter.
Close when fixed confirmed in a 644
Comment 10 Unknown 2003-02-10 22:20:57 UTC
sorry but I dont understand why its reassigned to me?

OO 1.0.x still crashes with this file.:(
Comment 11 Unknown 2003-02-23 13:01:46 UTC
reassigning because I have no idea why its assigned to me.
Comment 12 h.ilter 2003-03-05 14:59:28 UTC
HI: Verified with 644u8514 and 644m5_8555.
This bug will not occur anymore with the next OO build.
See Target Milestone.
