Description deligeo 2002-10-19 14:11:41 UTC
I am using RH8.0, pIII, 256MB RAM, Matrox Mil G200, Primax Cyber Navigator mouse
The problem is the following:
I open a document, when I use the pgUP,PGDN button to scroll through it
nothing bad happens. However when I use the scroll wheel on the mouse to browse,
the Xserver crashes and restarts (my session closes and I am presented with the
login window). All other programs work very well with this setup.
Please note that this mouse is not normally supported in RHlinux, so to get it
to work I put /etc/sysconfig/mouse to PS/2 generic mouse and my
/etc/X11/XF86Config to imps2 mouse. This gives me scroll wheel functionality in X.
Also note that gpm is working in the background. If I kill it before starting X,
the mouse goes crazy in X.
To make things more complicated, the same behavior exists in OO1.0.1 and RH7.x
In the past i tried to resolve the problem (didnt know it was mouse related) and
when I put SAL_ANTIALIAS_DISABLE in soffice the problem disappeared. (But the
document doesnt look that good.which is expected)
There are no error logs present in XFree86.x.log or in gpm log...
Currently I have switched my XF86Config back to PS/2 mouse and lost the
scroll wheel support.
This is only observed in documents that contain formulas and not only text.
I have filed an example in issue #8072, "master31.sxw" (thought it may be related).
I understand that this looks rather complicated but If there is some way, let
me know how I could provide more precise info. Thanks...
George

exists. (everything says imps2 protocol in my config files know)

OS->PL: It looks like this is one for you.

The program that does not work well is your Xserver. The missing log
file you possibly can find in your home directory named
.Xsession-error or similar (depends on your session setup), i suggest
filing an error to the XFree project which contains that log.

Ok Philip,
  I'll do that.
  Thanks anyway.
