I'm running XP Pro, and openoffice 1.0.1  

When I go into Options, select Text document, and then View, I select the
vertical ruler and select 'Inch' as the measure type.  It'll keep the setting
for as long as I am in the program.  Once I either open another document, or
close the program, once it's started up again, the setting is back to centimeters.

I found another glitch with the ruler.  If I go into page preview, it
displays the page as it should.  But when I return to normal editing
mode, the vertical ruler changes back to Centimeters.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
