Description billw1955 2002-10-16 14:39:15 UTC
I create a new OO text document on my desktop (using the right click menu),
open that doc, and paste in some text copied from IE (straight text, inside
<pre><tt>). App hourglasses and then becomes 'not responding'.

Bill, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

Does this problem still happen if you do an Edit->Paste Special and
choose "Unformatted text"?

Closing issue due to inactivity.

Please post a new issue if the problem still exists in the latest
release of OOo.

Open Office Writer freezes every time I copy from an app and then paste it in Writer. Why dose this happen 90% of the time.

Please provide specific information.

What app are you copying to the clipboard from when this happens? A screen shot would be helpful.

Also, how are you pasting into Writer.

What version of Apache OpenOffice are you using. What is your computer and OS version?

Without such information, we cannot analyze further with you, and we can't reproduce the situation.

@orcmid: Please keep this old issue closed. I really hope that you won't reopen a 14 years old issue. ;-)

Of course. The piggy-backing on this issue has not changed its reproducibility [;<). I just didn't want to complicate things for doorman until we have more to be worked with.

Not reproducible with:
copy from IE 11
paste (normal) to OpenOffice Writer 4.1.1
Windows 7
