Calc crashes when user selects "Format->Cells" if specific truetype fonts
are present (e.g. kartika.ttf)

I can reproduce the crash on Calc version 2.3 on a Linux platform (Fedora 8)
as follows:

mkdir /usr/share/fonts/msttfonts
cp kartika.ttf /usr/share/fonts/msttfonts
cd /usr/share/fonts/msttfonts
mkfontdir

oocalc
select "Format" and then "Cells"

I can attach the crash information if needed.  "kartika.ttf" was
imported from a windows XP fresh installation, other microsoft
truetype fonts work fine.

I guess I am not allowed to attach the kartifa font file, however here is its 
md5sum:

$ md5sum kartika.ttf
431cde822eeabd647b9169ec85ba96aa  kartika.ttf

If *this* one had been submitted before 83991 then that would have saved a lot
of work :-)

Please try the new icu rpm referenced at the end of that issue and let me know
if it works
