Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 8389
widevec, vec, hat etc .. way to high
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:53:10 UTC
Primitive like "widevec", "vec", "hat" etc ... are really *too far* from the text they are supposed to cover. For example try to write this formula: widevec text1 overline text2 The "Overline" is actually good and fits in *one* line height. In contrast "widevec" is not, and seems to fit in a "2 lines height" structure. In fact it should be aligned with "overline". Not doing so make documents horrible as soon as you want to write a simple formula (1 line height) with a vector, hat etc ... within the text your are writing. OpenOffice is the only Word Processor make so high vectors (and hat, and tilde and.. ). Word, StarOffice or even Tex do not have this kind of behavior. A direct consequence: A formula containing a "widevec" and saved under StarOffice then imported into OpenOffice will appear like compressed and unreadable. Then if you try to fix it, this will expand the text by pushing it of one line down. This issue is so bad that I had to go back w/ StarOffice rofl :-/
Read 3780 for workaround if needed. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 3780 ***
