Dick, thank you for using and supporting OOo. If possible, test to see if this problem still exist with unstable developer build 643. Developer builds are for testing purposes only. What OS are you using? What patch level is it at?
Stefan: You asked what OS: Win98SE 4.10.222A re: testing build 643 -- Where, how does one obtain the pre-compiled binary?? All I is Source, SDK, etc., etc. I am not euipped to compile the source files. Thanks, Dick Fraser
Reminder, developer releases are unstable and meant for testing purposes only. Dick, you can download the developer release here: http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/643/index.html
Sir: Build 643 installation failed: Message was -- Build 643 library missing UNICOWS.DLL This binary was obtained from ftp site Umbc. The download was accomplished is five increments (nearly seven hours of connect time) using Download Accelerator. Is is possible to secure the missing DLL itself and then add it to the directory into which the binary is unzipped, and from which the installation will be made? I doubt seriously that I will attempt another full download. Thanks, Dick Fraser
Dick thank you for your continued patience and effort. I've installed the latest developer build from OpenOffice.org and it worked for me. I'm not sure which mirror you were accessing to get OpenOffice.org. Unfortunately I do not know if you can get the .dll file individually. Since downloading OOo from the main site is inconvenient for you, we'll see if other people have experienced the same problem that you originally listed.
Hi dfraser, thanks for using and supporting Openoffice... I tried with newest version (OOo1.1RC3) and it worked fine... Please try again with newest version, too and send a new comment if your problem occurs again... If there's no new comment until 12/09/2003 this Issue will be closed... reassigned to mci@openoffice.org
set to WORKSFORME...
