When I start doing anything in the calc for version 2.3, my system slows down 
so much that it takes forever to do anything.  when I looked at the Processes 
window under Task Manager SOFFICE.bin was running at 504,000 without my doing 
anything in calc.  I think that this is an issue in Vista.

Can you give a more precise description waht you are doing in Calc.
So we may be able to reproduce it.

could not reproduce. Calc with only a new Sheet uses about 14 MByte on my Vista
test system.

44 MByte here, using WinXP (aka: Windows (32-bit) NT 5.01)
it might depend wheter you are using a quickstarter or not.....
for me it is not a problem however...
