Description kulkuri 2007-10-10 17:35:04 UTC
As things are now, few users ever find out how to set document or paragraph
language. The function is totally illogically hid behind the menu "character"
and. Also the help files are worthless in this case. This major and severe
defect has been there for years - why is that?

Setting document or paragraph language simply *must* be made easier - easier to
find and to use. This demands more logical menus, and also, if one right-clicks
on a marked (highlighted) text portion, then the menu that comes up must give
one the option to set the language. Not "character", but SET LANGUAGE.

Related issue: With version 2.3, I have not found a way to close off the "check
spelling as you type". If I close that function, the program fails to remember
that setting and turns the "check spelling as you type" function on again. For
us all who use multiple language, this is a major nuisance.

@ sba: Something for you?
@ kulkuri: Please read the guidelines for the writing an issue, especially for
the priorities. P1 is pretty oversized.

the setting of language has been reworked completely. This is more or less
covered by issue 1034.

If you can reproduce the problem with the non-sticky setting, please create
another issue
