Description plett 2002-10-11 13:12:51 UTC
It would be nice to have 2 options which exist in WordPerfect:

a) A check box for "minimum" which sets the page margins to the widest/tallest possible for the selected printer

b) A check box for "equal" which makes all margins equal size.

Indeed it is not clear whether "equal" refers to top and bottom or left and
right margins. (Presumably to all of them at the same time.)
While it's nice to have a shortcut for common settings, I think symmetries along
the vertical and horizontal axes should be provided -- or alternatively a way to
set the margins in percentages instead of absolute measurements.

Is there any one taking care of this issue? It would be very nice to have this
feature!
Comment 6 lohmaier 2005-11-01 22:39:54 UTC
OOo always had the capability to set the margin to the printer's limits. Just
press <page down> and it will be set accordingly.

Regarding the "equal" setting: I doubt that this will be useful.
Most of the time you'll have different settings. Furthermore: You can always
create page and document templates that have the most-used settings.

This one might be "ok to have", but "there are bigger fish to catch"...

I was unable to recreate this "nice to have feature" with the tools that are available to me. Looking at Microsoft Word and OOo writer it seems the option for the check boxes would not be beneficial to the user.
