Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 82253
Animation delays too short
Last modified: 2015-04-12 10:06:48 UTC
I was building some multimedia material for my lectures when I realized that you cannot set the animation dealy on any object longer than 999 seconds. This is annoying since often I have sounds to accatch to the animations, and thus the effects must wait as long as the sound file playing lasts. If the sound file is longer than 999, you're in trouble. It should really be increased to 9999 seconds - I hope this is little trouble. Rhight now I have to work around this by partitiong the audio in smaller pieces, attaching the ones after the first piece to fake animations of invisible objects.
Reassigned.
Priority Change P1 -> P3 P1 = OOo is completly unusable Raphael
Duncan Nisbet, BBST participant 04/12/2015 This behaviour is still apparent in version AOO411m6(Build:9775) - Rev. 1617669 Steps to reproduce: - In a presentation, create an object animation & select a start option - Under "Effect Dissolve In" section of Custom Animation side panel, Click on the ellipsis (...) next to the property field - Select Timing tab and you will see the delay option - Maximum value is 999.9 seconds Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 (a comparable product) allows a delay of 60 seconds. This appears to be a reduction in the available duration from previous versions of PowerPoint. Apparently it is possible to use the timeline in PowerPoint in order to workaround the 60 seconds max duration: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-powerpoint/animation-delay-in-ppt-2010/d9687c7e-ebe8-4bb5-abda-6ea1a30e5815
