Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 81897
Windowing problems in Aqua
Last modified: 2008-03-19 10:20:16 UTC
Using Aqua Beta version on Mac OSX 10.4.10, I'm having several problems with the windowing function. Noticed it in Writer, but may apply to others. I'll try to test. I've tried checking for dupes of this but haven't found any. The problem is that windows don't render correctly (mostly sizing and positioning problems). Second document window seems to always load high on the page with title bar hidden behind the menu and I am unable to move it (need access to the title bar to move the window). Only option is to close the documents and reopen only the active document. I'll report back as I find other aspects of this problem.
adding macport cc Can you please tell us the full name of the .dmg that you used? Can you please also tell us a little bit about your system, including: model and screen resolution?
ericb@chpsen Can you please describe us more exactly what happens ? In particular, is the problem caused by wizards ? There is an existing issue about that already: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=77564 Is it the same ?
I'm back on another machine as my Mac is currently not available. I'm using a MacBook with 10.4.10. 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB (667MHz) memory, 4MB L2 Cache, 64MB video RAM. Native resolution 1280 x 800 (13.3" screen). The problem is NOT with wizards, since I rarely use them. Problems started as soon as I started using OO/Aqua. The problem with the misplaced window occured when I opened a second document window, haven't been able to test it further until I get the machine back. I'll provide the DMG name when I get it, but I'd used the most recent build at the time I downloaded it, which wasn't too long ago (less than a month, I think). Carl
Cannot see the problem on Win or Linux. Reassigning to Macport.
Note that the issue was named for the Aqua mac port, so of course that's where I saw this problem. Not sure how the version got set to 1.1.1 since I don't recall having the option to set the version number. I'm back on my Mac and will try to revisit this problem soon, after I get a few kinks worked out of the machine.
I ask the .dmg name, since you might be using an old version, where the problem has already been fixed. Please see http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/ for a more up to date version.
ericb@chpsen This issue is imho fixed with recent changes ( we do provide m242 aqua at the moment ) Please confirm or tell us is the issue disappeared (then I'll close this issue)
No answer means there is no more issue -> closing as Woksforme
