Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 817
Rename cgi's for efficiency
Last modified: 2003-12-27 10:23:17 UTC
When I type in the above URL in most browsers, a list of matching URLS appears show all URLs that match that URL. buglist.cgi and show_bug.cgi should be at the top of that list. This could be done by renaming show_bug.cgi to bug.cgi
AFAIK, the above URL correctly links to the OpenOffice.org IssueZilla Main Page. I can not duplicate, with the browsers to which I have access, the behavior described. BTW ... while admittedly simple in concept to implement, primary and secondary (i.e. support and maintenance) consequences of renaming are not insignificant. As this relates to the technical infrastructure, reassigning to kat for ownership (to coordinate technical support as required toward resolution). Please accept issue (to change status from NEW to ASSIGNED). Please follow-up with reporter to confirm issue.
accepting issue for investigation. I have tried this with Netscape, IE and Lynx and get the Issuezilla main page with all of these. Which browsers exhibit the behavior you describe? Thank you, Kat
In order to replicate this, you will need to actually type in the URL, and both IE and Mozilla will provide a drop down list of URLs that match the typed URL. When I do this, I get a mile-long list of createattachment.cgi? URLs which I would never want to use again. This is only an efficiency issue, that probably doesnt affect many, and hence I do not mind if it doesnt get fixed ... just thought I would raise the issue and see what others thought.
Ah - I see now what you are referring to. Yes, this may be nice to have but I do not see it as a high priority issue for the roadmap. For now I am resolving this to won't fix so we may concentrate resources on higher priority matters. Thank you Kat
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details.
