Description Unknown 2002-09-28 17:36:26 UTC
Sorry IF I am doing this wrong. I have a Issue with 1.0.1 and Windows 98se
machines. Sometimes Windows will not Shutdown or restart until I CTRL ALT DEl
and close soffice from task manager. I have the problem on 4 win98se machines
that are fresh installs of windows. I think it might be a problem with
Openoffice and AVG antivirus. I do not have the problems on any machines with
Norton AV. I still have the problem after uninstalling AVG.
The machines are a range of Dell Gx1 266 -400MHZ,64MB ram at leat 4GB free space
ATI MAchII Video cards,IE5.5,Mozilla and all of windows Critical Updates
Installed

Thank you for using and supporting OOo.

Have you tried disabling the QuickStarter to see if this will prevent
the issues you are having with shutdown?

You can either right-click on the QuickStarter icon in the systray
and select the menu option for "Load OpenOffice.org during startup"
or inside OOo go to Tools-Options->Memory and unselect "Load
OpenOffice.org during startup".

Hi,

I've been trying to reproduce it on the same kind of systems: Win98SE,
500MHz Pentium 3 and AVG (plus Windows updates and Mozilla, etc...)
Could you please try to disable the Quickstarter as previously requested?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know whose issue this is, but it's definitely not an API
issue. My geuss is, somewhere in the framework area.

Keogk: I am doing some research why so many issues are reportet to the
API component which are definitely not API issues. Please help and
tell my, how you got the idea that it is an API issue? Thanks.

If this bug is related to the quickstarter problem, this is a
framework problem, but we already have a bug report for it (7037).

If it is something else, we need an exact way to reproduce the
problem, until then I can't help.
