I have a problem in OpenOffice 1.01 with RTF genrerated by MS word 2000 :
equations and  graphics do not appear similar to the originals ;
However, imports of the same RTF file give good results when I use
Star Office 5.2 . Perhaps a problem of fonts ? However, I have not imported
special fonts in SO 5.2.

Could you possibly supply a sample document so this can be confirmed. 
I know it's a long time since you submitted the bug ...
