German: Files for translation update of 2.3 Attached is a .zip archive containing .sdf files to be translated. Some useful information: The .sdf files can be converted to .po files using the oo2po tool and converted back to .sdf format using the po2oo tool from the Translate Toolkit package: http://translate.sourceforge.net/ Documentation with examples for conversion and backconversion is here: http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/toolkit/oo2po Once converted the .po files back to .sdf format, don't forget to run gsicheck on the newly created .sdf files to make sure that they are not corrupted: http://ooo.services.openoffice.org/gsicheck/ Finally, please attach the new .sdf files (zipped, if possible) back to this issue and assign the issue back to petr_dudacek. A wiki page about the translation of 2.3 is under construction, a link will be posted here once the page is ready. Please note that the deadline for translation delivery is July 5. Thanks, Petr

Just for the records: I will attach the final sdf-file with translations for 2.3 of the germanophone community. Many thanks to Petr, who helped converting the po-files back to sdf. Furthermore I will attach the xlz-files, so that the translators can see, which changes are made after their translation during the review.

A new version of gsicheck is available at http://ooo.services.openoffice.org/gsicheck/ - please use this version for checking the translated sdf files before attaching them back to this issue. Hi Petr, thanks a lot for providing the new translation files. I have a problem converting the UI files to po because of an UTF-8 Encoding Error. I checked the original sdf-file with gsicheck and got a similar error in lines 165 and 166. In these both lines I found a copyright character (©) - could this be the reason?
Does it mean that you cannot convert the UI .sdf to .po files at all? I'm getting the same gsicheck error but the conversion works fine. The copyright character is causing the problem - it seems that the string with this character is not properly encoded in UTF-8. Just let me know if you have troubles with the conversion, I'll attach the .po files here if necessary.
The conversion from sdf to po was no problem (exept this one file, which had 0 kb after conversion), but the conversion from po to xlz stopped at this file. I removed the copyright character and converted the files again. This works fine. So I will add the character after the translation. Thanks for your help! We can start with the translation now.

I tried to convert the po-files back to sdf, the UI-file seems to be ok, except: odf4ms source\odfpresdll\odfpresdll.ulf %ODFCOPYRIGHT_PART1% This is the string, which gave a gsicheck-error also with the original files I will attach the translated UI-file. Please check, if it is ok. I can attach the po-files too, if needed.

Converting the HC2-files seems to be more problematic, I get many errors during conversion and also gsicheck has many error messages. I will attach the translated po-files for the Online-Help now, but I try to fix the errors and attach the sdf-file soon.

I found the reason for the conversion problem: There were several double entries in the original sdf-file we got for translation. I removed the files from 93824_HC2_2007-07-12_49.sdf and now the conversion works without errors. I also corrected some tag mismatches, gsicheck did not find any errors. So I will attach the translated sdf-file for the Online-Help now.
