Description msicotte 2007-05-19 03:33:56 UTC
The text tends to appear misplaced in Writer when opening existing documents
(the text continues outside of the margins to the right, and some of it seems to
be outside of the page (& not visible though))

ericb->msicotte

IMHO, this issue is duplicated with #i77560#
Comment 3 msicotte 2007-05-19 16:14:16 UTC
msicotte => ericb Details added to make the difference clear.

After the line reaches a critical length, as you type text it is displayed on
line 2, when the word is completed (you type a space), the word is rendered on
line 1 and new text is again displayed on line 2. See the screenshot.

A sample document that does not render correctly can be downloaded at

Can you please test again, with recent build ? A lot of issues are fixed for rendering now.
(maybe some work is still needed )

@hdu

Can you please test using the document attached to the issue ? For me it's ok, but I have some doubt
about the Title ( the last letters are outside the frame ?)

Comment 9 hdu@apache.org 2007-10-05 10:49:50 UTC
A part of the last letter is out of the frame, even in the latest CWS aquavcl03. I wonder if the infamous
Writer assertion called WhatAGuess is behind it. I will debug into it.

After more testing with the above mentioned document there is no problem with the title. The last
character is outside the default text frame, but this is because the document requests the right border of
this text to be outside. Please click on the title, then look at the ruler where the slider for the right border
is outside its default bounds. So the document behaves consistently on all platforms.

With this remaining doubt being resolved I suggest to change the status to WORKSFORME and close the
issue. Mike and Eric, do you agree?

+1 for me:

I don't see the rendering issue in all documents I'm using and opening at work since a while.
