Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 76973
My Issues "slow"
Last modified: 2012-06-15 10:46:32 UTC
Displaying "My Issues" page is slow for me. Sometimes, it takes 20 seconds to start loading when I can display e.g. the site main page almost instantly in the second tab of the same browser. The URL is http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/buglist.cgi?cmdtype=runuserdefault
The main page (and other static pages) is served from a cache. It looks like IZ queries were slow on Saturday morning (UTC).
As reported via PM: I was waiting for an issue page to show approx. 2 minutes, thus I decided to measure it in the morning: paveljanik:/tmp pavel$ time wget http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=77012 --06:14:58-- http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=77012 => `show_bug.cgi?id=77012' Resolving www.openoffice.org... done. Connecting to www.openoffice.org[204.16.104.2]:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 500 Internal Server Error 06:24:59 ERROR 500: Internal Server Error. real 10m0.883s user 0m0.002s sys 0m0.007s paveljanik:/tmp pavel$ So it took 10 minutes to serve "Internal Server Error" this morning (06:15 CET).
IZ is basically dead every morning starting 6:30 CEST (4:30 UTC) for about an hour.
Hi, Thank you for contacting CollabNet Customer Support.Based on the information that has been provided to us, we will initiate our research & provide you an update as soon as we have adequate information. I have filed an internal ticket for this Will update you with the root cause analysis as soon as possible. Thanks, Pritha Support Operations.
The Root Cause for the IZ to be inaccessible @ 6:30 CEST has been identified it was due cron was been run at that specific time for performing a DB dump of the IZ DB. However due to the complexity, structure of the IZ DB in Openoffice and also due to the expensive nature of the operation . A decision was made to disable the cron to be run on the production site . -Jobin.
Just to be sure: backup of IZ database is done other way, right?
Yes , we would/are performing backup of the data by performing a snapshot operation.
I experienced a 10 minutes latency this morning 5am UTC again on "my issues" again
I have requested our engineers to investigative on the slowness reported . MH , have you or any other community member's noticed the similar kind of slowness on the IZ query after you had updated on May 15 .
Mh , We would appreciate if you could provide us details on whether this slowness was noticed per-user or was noticed site wide . On investigating with the log information most of the responses noticed were seem to be normal these were IZ queries, xml export, show attachment etc .
Mh , Any updates on this issue if the community/users are not experiencing slowness/lag in their day-to-day IZ operations . I would recommend to resolve this issue .
Resolving this issue since we have been not identified any slowness in the IZ operations . Please reopen this issue if their is any concerns/queries .
There is no "slow" issue exist. Suggest to close it.
We do no longer use CollapseNet's system, so closing.
