Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 76773
Commands reversal in the Italian version: P.RATA - INTERESSI
Last modified: 2014-06-21 09:25:56 UTC
In the Italian version of OpenOffice.Calc there is an error in the names of the commands INTERESSI and P.RATA. They are in fact inverted. Indeed, as in MS Excel, the latter should correspond to the English command PPMT and work out the principal repayments on loans, assuming it takes the form of an annuity. In OOo this command actually calculates the interest charged (as done by the English command IPMT), while the principal component repayment is instead worked out by INTERESSI, which should instead give the interest component.
@giuseppe_vittucci: Please attach a small sample document with some hints "expected:... / actual: ..."
Please have a look at this one
giuseppe_vittucci: Any update regarding a sample document illustrating this issue (if the problem still exists in OOo 3.0 Beta)?

The bug is still present in version 2.4.1. I have attached two screenshots. The first one (screenshot italian) shows the italian command (INTERESSI) needed to have the same result of the english version (PPMT), although the right command in italian should be instead P.RATA.

Giuseppe, does the problem still exist with the latest version of OpenOffice (4.1.0, download from http://www.openoffice.org/it/ )? We can fix it in version 4.1.1 if needed.
