Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 76384
cannot use cursor keys to move between slides, when show viewed on "Monitor 2"
Last modified: 2007-05-23 07:50:06 UTC
-note: this requires a video card that supports multiple monitors -create simple slide show with more than two slides (e.g. based on template, to my experience this happens with any slide show). -view slide show (on Monitor 1) -notice: you can move between the slides using the cursor keys. This is good! -exit slide show -change "Slide Show/Slide Show Settings/Multiple Monitors" to "Monitor 2" -view slide show -notice: you cannot move between the slides using the cursor keys, it doesn't matter where the mouse is positioned. This is "wrong", or at least very inconvenient :-) -further note: once you left-click into the slide show once, the cursor keys will magically start working, also left clicking moves the slide show forward as expected.
Reassigned.
I tested it with my suse 9.2 and can't reproduce the bug. It doesn't matter if I start the presentation on Display 1 or 2 I can always change the slides with the cursor keys. Please tell me which Linux do you use.
Change the resolution to works for me.
I am using OpenSuse 10.2 using KDE. I did not have this problem with 2.0 (when starting the presentation on the 2nd monitor). Please let me know if there is any extra info I can provide to help to narrow this down.
I still can't reproduce the bug. I can reproduce the behavior when I click in the inactive office after starting the presentation. When I only start the office and use the cursor keys the change the slides (without additional click) everything works correct. Which dual display mode do you use? Xinerama or traditional (each monitor an independent display)
Do you click into the inactive office after starting the presentation? Which dual display mode do you use? Please give me more information or I have to close the issue as works for me.
Sorry for the slow reply. I use Xinerama. I think you have identified the problem I am seeing. I verified that I do not see this problem if the only thing I do after opening the slide show is to start the slide show. However, even if I select 'monitor 2' in the slide show settings before starting the slide show, the problem will appear. The specific workflow that makes me run into this again and again is: - click on presentation on KDE desktop - change slide show settings to 'Monitor 2' - start slide show
In my mind this will be fixed with the presenter View therefore duplicate to issue 18486. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 18486 ***
I close the issue as duplicate.
