Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 76237
Installation Fails to Cleanup Fully
Last modified: 2007-04-16 10:12:11 UTC
I upgraded from OOo 2.1 to OOo 2.2 using default settings, and applying the installation to all users. The installer left a 100MB temporary directory ("OpenOffice.org 2.2 Installation Files") on my desktop, and it failed to fully remove the "OpenOffice.org 2.1" directory from "Program Files". (After the upgrade, all this directory contained was the empty subdirectory "program".) At the very least, the temporary installation directory should by default be put in the standard temp directory (using the TEMP or TMP environment variable) so that standard cleanup utilities can find it and dispose of it.
Confirming the behavior, but I think it is acceptable (for example, Acrobat extracts itself into temp folder, but Nvidia drivers extract to c:\nvidia and do not delete the folder after installation). Developers will decide.
