Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 75672
OLE Objects mixed up
Last modified: 2008-06-17 10:11:00 UTC
Hi, I have found out, that if one has several OLE objects( in my case Microcal Orgin Graphics) in one Impress presentation, they look alright. But somehow after saving, they get mixed up. - include figure 1 via include content OLE Object - include figure 2 via include content OLE Object keep working, all looks fine. Save odp file, re-open odp file, figure 1 and 2 are identical. Checking the object navigator, both OLE objects have the name object2, which seem sto be the problem. If I copy the slides from another presentation, it works alright. Sorry if I cannot give you more information, why this happens. But it happened to me during a presentation which hit me rather unexpected, if you want to speak about a graph and it cannot be found. Thanks, Christopher
Is this reproducible? The problem is we get unfrequent issues about this but up to now we were not able to reproduce the behaviour so we could not do anything to fix it. I'am sorry for the inconvenience.
Don't worry about the inconvenience. I'm trying to help, not to complain It just happened again. - doubleclick on the OLE object, to change something - close external application - changes have been applied to figure 1 - figure 2 has been turned into figure 1 Objects had different names this time.
Can you describe a way how we can reproduce this *from scratch*? The problem is that once the problem happened it's impossible to find out why.
I have experienced the same problem on my presentation. I attached all of my presentation "sample-yike.odp" for this issue. I have made the presentation using OOo 2.2.1 (Debian GNU/Linux distribution package ver. 2.2.1-10). I'm sorry about that it is huge and it has written in Japanese, but I can restage the problem with the presentation. On page 27 of the presentation, there are two OLE objects(tables) which have the same name "Object 22". I checked the name using the object navigator. I cannot reproduce the problem from scratch, because it was found after edit with many operations. However, I can restage a strange behavior with the presentation "sample-yike.odp". 1. please, open the file "sample-yike.odp" 2. select the page 27 3. check the object navigator, there are two OLE Objects(tables) which has the same name "Object 22" 4. remove the table on the left side, please leave another table on the right side 5. check the object navigator, there are only one OLE Object(table) has the name "Object 22" 6. create an new OLE Object on the page 27, I made a new Math formula "E=mc^2" at the time 7. please pay attention to the object navigator, there are two OLE Objects(the math formula and the table) which has the same name "Object 22"! 8. save this presentation as "a.odp" and CLOSE it. 9. open the saved presentation "a.odp" 10. select the page 27, there are two OLE Object(two math formulas) which has the same name "Object 22"

Hi developers, I confirmed by attached files. Can You reproduce?
I found the same problem in another presentation. I attached the presentation as "sample-ichida.odp". It was written using OpenOffice.org 2.0.2 (OS: SuSE Linux 10.0 OSS version). At the page 20 of the presentation, there are two OLE objects named as "Object 23".

Setting this to duplicate as the other bug contains a description how to reproduce. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 83869 ***
