Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7529
Saving table in native format crashes OO without save or recovery
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:56:16 UTC
I was creating a table with vertical text and went to save it to the user's directory. The program crashes without warning. I restart OO and was not given the option to recover. Did not find the program in the above directory. Stack trace... Core was generated by `/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin private:factory/swriter '. Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault. #0 0x40509afd in ?? () Using Linux-Mandrake b3/4
Gabriel, thanks for posting. Can you consistently reproduce this issue? If you can, please list the exact steps we need to follow to duplicate this issue. Thanks.
Not reproducible. Another crash while editing a cvs file, might be related. Core was generated by `/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin private:factory/swriter '.Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault. #0 0x400e564a in ?? ()
I think I generally tracked down the cause of the crashes which now are basically almost ANYTIME I use OO. I did a simple test of opening up writer typing 'test' then saving it as test - crash. I had this problem before, if you install OO over an existing installation it gets confused. I am having this problem with Mandrake but had it with RH. What I did was uninstalled a newer package and returned to an older package which was worked. Same problem. How I fixed it was, to copy the user directory, delete the default user directory, uninstall, re-install, OO setups up a new user directory, then I manually copied everything from the old user directory to the new user directory EXCEPT the /config directory. Everything seems to work.
Gabriel, I'm going to close this issue for now.
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
