Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7479
presentation crash when clicking on a link
Last modified: 2003-10-24 12:05:11 UTC
In the file I will attach, click on the left portion of the bottom line and OpenOffice.org dies with an abort trap.
Created attachment 2704 [details] One-page example of the problem
Here is a gdb run: gdb /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.0/program/soffice.bin soffice.bin.core GNU gdb 4.18 (FreeBSD) Copyright 1998 Free Software Foundation, Inc. GDB is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License, and you are welcome to change it and/or distribute copies of it under certain conditions. Type "show copying" to see the conditions. There is absolutely no warranty for GDB. Type "show warranty" for details. This GDB was configured as "i386-unknown-freebsd"... (no debugging symbols found)... Core was generated by `soffice.bin'. Program terminated with signal 6, Abort trap. Reading symbols from /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.0/program/libsvl641fi.so... (no debugging symbols found)...done. Reading symbols from /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.0/program/libvcl641fi.so... (no debugging symbols found)...done. Reading symbols from /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.0/program/libcppu.so.3...Error while reading shared library symbols: Dwarf Error: Cannot handle DW_FORM_strp in DWARF reader. Reading symbols from /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.0/program/libcppuhelper3gcc3.so...Error while reading shared library symbols: Dwarf Error: Cannot handle DW_FORM_strp in DWARF reader. gdb in free(): warning: page is already free Segmentation fault (core dumped) Interesting, as this matches the other issue I submitted. Looks more like a library problem than an OpenOffice problem.
Kenneth, thanks for taking the time to post this issue. Are you referring to this link on the presentation you included? http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Software-RAID-HOWTO.html Unable to duplicate on Win NT 4.0 SP6a, OO 1.0.1. I clicked on the link listed a few lines above.
That is the correct link. Based on the gdb info and another problem I had that gdb traced to the same place, I think that this may be a FreeBSD issue.
Kenneth, if possible please see if this problem still exists with developer build 643.
I tried to use the openoffice-devel port which builds 643, but it failed to compile with the following error messages: Making: ../../../../../../unxfbsd.pro/slo/context.obj g++31 -w -c -I. -I. -I../inc -I../../../../../../inc -I../../../../../../unx/inc -I../../../../../../unxfbsd.pro/inc -I. -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/solver/643/unxfbsd.pro/inc/stl -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/solver/643/unxfbsd.pro/inc/external -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/solver/643/unxfbsd.pro/inc -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/solenv/unxfbsd/inc -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/solenv/inc -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/res -I/usr/include -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/solver/643/unxfbsd.pro/inc/stl -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/solenv/inc/Xp31 -I/usr/local/jdk1.3.1/include -I/usr/local/jdk1.3.1/include/freebsd -I/usr/local/jdk1.3.1/include/green_threads/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I. -I../../../../../../res -I. -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/solenv/unxfbsdi/usr/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -O -DHAVE_UNISTD_H -DHAVE_GETTIMEOFDAY -DHAVE_SYS_TIME_H -DHAVE_ISNAN -DHAVE_FINITE -I/usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/solver/643/unxfbsd.pro/inc/expat -DHAVE_XMLPARSE_H -pipe -fno-for-scope -fpermissive -fno-exceptions -fPIC -DFREEBSD -DUNX -DVCL -DGCC -DC300 -DINTEL -DCVER=C300 -D_USE_NAMESPACE -D_USE_NAMESPACE=1 -DX86 -DNEW_SOLAR -DSTLPORT_VERSION=400 -DOSVERSION=460102 -D_THREAD_SAFE -D__DMAKE -DUNIX -DCPPU_ENV=gcc3 -DSUPD=643 -DBUILD=8231 -DPRODUCT -DNDEBUG -DPRODUCT_FULL -DOPTIMIZE -DEXCEPTIONS_OFF -DCUI -DSOLAR_JAVA -DSRX643 -DSHAREDLIB -D_DLL_ -DMULTITHREAD -o ../../../../../../unxfbsd.pro/slo/context.o /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/context.cpp In file included from /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/guard.h:142, from /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/context.cpp:44: /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/parser.h:47:22: xmlparse.h: No such file or directory In file included from /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/guard.h:142, from /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/context.cpp:44: /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/parser.h:95: ` XML_Parser' was not declared in this scope /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/parser.h:95: parse error before `,' token /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/parser.h:100: type specifier omitted for parameter `XML_Parser' /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/parser.h:100: parse error before `)' token /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot/unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/Sablot-0.52/Sablot/engine/parser.h:106: ' XML_Parser' is used as a type, but is not defined as a type. dmake: Error code 1, while making '../../../../../../unxfbsd.pro/slo/context.obj' ---* TG_SLO.MK *--- dmake: Error code 255, while making './unxfbsd.pro/misc/build/so_built' ---* TG_SLO.MK *--- ERROR: Error 65280 occurred while making /usr/ports/editors/openoffice-devel/work/oo_643_src/sablot dmake: Error code 1, while making 'build_all' ---* TG_SLO.MK *--- *** Error code 255
Kenneth, thanks for the update. In regards to the compile problem, please open a new issue with the comments you just attached. Thanks.
Reassigned to Christian.
Hi Tim something for you , because it doesn't occur in non FreeBSD build, so it will be a problem with FreeBSD port I think. Bye Marc
Does this problem still exist in the latest version of OOo?
WFM with 1.1Beta2 WIN98 Rainer
Hi Kenneth, can you try the binary Linux build of OpenOffice1.1rc2 from openoffice.org (freebsd can run Linux apps, right)? That has a crash logger that should give us better info about the problem. I wouldn't put too much stock in the gdb traces you sent in before; the version of GDB you were using seems to have had trouble.
Please try using the latest OpenOffice 1.1 Final , you can download it from www.openoffice.org many bug fixes and enhancements since your version and 1.1 Final . If the problem still happend in 1.1 please report back
Closing issue due to inactivity as WFM. Please open a new issue if the problem still exists in the latest release of OOo. Rainer
