Description aspsaegesser 2007-02-14 09:07:37 UTC
In OOo 2.1 the only place where user wordbooks are accepted is <ooo-
install>\share\wordbook. This is certainly the wrong place to put user-data
(where they most likely are deleted with the next upgrade). The path
<user>\user\wordbook does not work.
Previous discussion of the topic is no help to me. There has been a talk about
a configuration file. What configuration file?
I generally object against the brute force to have any user data on the
installation drive. So please give us back a way to configure all the needed
paths.

Greetings
Walter

TM->SBA: Looks like an issue for the writer-team. Please have a look, thanks !

Hm, wordbooks are for all components, I see this as a lingucomponent or
Installation issue.

I can confirm that annoying behaviour (but with some differences in details),
every upgrade is a little wordbook lottery, and I always loose - the wordbooks
are lost.

I upgraded from "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" (with user
wordbooks in 'C:\Programme\OpenOffice.org 2.0\share\wordbook\de) to "2.2.0RC2
Multilanguage/German version WIN XP: [680m9(Build9124)]". The new version had
new User wordbooks in 'C:\Programme\OpenOffice.org 2.2\share\wordbook\de' and
'C:\Programme\OpenOffice.org 2.2\share\wordbook\en-us'. My old wordbooks have
not been transferred, but because I saved them before upgrade, I only had to
copy them to the new default folder, and my user wordbooks with voluminous new
entries were available again.
